What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a prescription medication approved by the FDA for the treatment of obesity. It belongs to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 receptor agonists, which work by mimicking the effects of a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). Semaglutide helps regulate appetite, reduce food intake, and promote weight loss.
Benefits of the Semaglutide Injections Wellness Program
- Effective Weight Loss: Semaglutide injections have been shown to produce significant and sustained weight loss in clinical trials, helping you achieve your weight loss goals more effectively than diet and exercise alone.
- Appetite Control: By regulating appetite and reducing food cravings, Semaglutide injections can help you make healthier food choices and adhere to a calorie-restricted diet more easily.
- Improved Metabolic Health: In addition to promoting weight loss, Semaglutide has been shown to improve metabolic parameters such as blood sugar levels, insulin sensitivity, and lipid profiles, reducing the risk of obesity-related health complications.
- Long-term Results: Unlike many other weight loss medications, Semaglutide injections have demonstrated durable results, with many patients maintaining weight loss over the long term.
Conditions Associated with Weight Loss
Semaglutide injections may benefit individuals with various medical conditions associated with obesity, including:
- Type 2 Diabetes: Semaglutide has been shown to improve glycemic control and reduce the need for diabetes medications in patients with type 2 diabetes, making it an effective treatment option for individuals with both obesity and diabetes.
- Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Excess weight is a significant risk factor for hypertension. By promoting weight loss and improving cardiovascular health, Semaglutide injections can help reduce blood pressure and lower the risk of heart disease and stroke.
- Hyperlipidemia (High Cholesterol): Obesity is often accompanied by dyslipidemia, characterized by elevated levels of cholesterol and triglycerides. Semaglutide injections can help improve lipid profiles and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in individuals with high cholesterol.

Semaglutide injections, like any medication, may cause side effects in some individuals.
Common side effects associated with semaglutide injections include:
- Gastrointestinal Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort are among the most commonly reported side effects. These symptoms typically occur during the initial weeks of treatment and may improve over time.
- Hypoglycemia: Semaglutide can lower blood sugar levels, leading to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Symptoms of hypoglycemia may include dizziness, sweating, confusion, weakness, and rapid heartbeat.
- Injection Site Reactions: Redness, swelling, or irritation at the injection site are possible side effects of semaglutide injections. These reactions are usually mild and resolve on their own.
- Decreased Appetite: Semaglutide may reduce appetite, which can lead to weight loss but may also result in reduced calorie intake.
- Headache: Some individuals may experience headaches while taking semaglutide, although this side effect is generally mild and temporary.
- Fatigue: Fatigue or tiredness may occur as a result of semaglutide treatment, particularly during the initial adjustment period.
- Gallbladder Disorders: There have been reports of gallbladder-related side effects, such as gallstones and inflammation of the gallbladder (cholecystitis), in individuals taking semaglutide.
It's important to note that not everyone will experience these side effects, and some individuals may tolerate semaglutide injections well. However, if you experience any persistent or severe side effects while using semaglutide, it's essential to consult your healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance.

For existing patients of Nationwide's Telemedicine program, please be aware that the starter and maintenance programs have been updated. We are moving to a new system with Programs One through four.
- Program 1: Now serves as the starter program.
- Program 2: Now serves as the maintenance program.
These updates are intended to simplify the transition. The old program names will be phased out soon. If you have any questions, please contact your physician or a member of our patient care team.
How long does this program last?
The amount of time your program will last depends on your dose and which month you are on. However, most of our patients have a 5 week supply when following the physicians treatment protocol.
How does it work?
Semaglutide acts like human glucagon-like peptide-1 in that it increases insulin secretion and stimulates insulin release from the pancreas, thereby increasing sugar metabolism. It also helps to reduce the amount of sugar released by your liver and slows down food leaving your stomach to help prevent blood sugar spikes.

How do I store Semaglutide?
Typically, it is recommended to store Semaglutide in the refrigerator at a temperature between 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). Additionally, Semaglutide should be kept in its original packaging and protected from light. Avoid freezing Semaglutide, and if accidentally frozen, it should not be used. If there are any questions or concerns about the storage of Semaglutide, individuals should consult with their healthcare provider or pharmacist for guidance.

Does Semaglutide have to be shipped refrigerated?
Yes, the Semaglutide requires refrigeration during shipping. Your option for shipping during check out will be overnight or two day.
Semaglutide is cold shipped, what happens if I get my package and the ice is melted?
The pharmacies have explained to us that the compounds are heated up to extreme temperatures during the compounding process. However, if it sits in extreme heat once the compounding process is completed, (example: a hot car, 150+ degrees), for more than 7 days it will start dropping potency. It is ok if the ice packs are melted when they get to you. As long as your order was in transit for less than allowable time(7 days), there is no concern that your medication has been affected by the heat.
Why is this better than hCG?
The protocol differs from the daily injection most of us are used to doing on hCG. That’s one of the things that makes this medication more appealing to some, the ease of administering once weekly injections rather than daily. It is being touted as the “No Diet Drug” but you are encouraged to eat a wholesome diet of about 1200-1800 calories a day, allowing you to create more sustainable eating habits while on the program compared to hCG’s 500 Calorie protocol.

What kind of weight loss should I expect?
Patients report with the capsules you are more likely to see a bigger loss going into week 3. For the injections, you might see some loss the first week or midway into the 2nd week. By weeks 3 and 4 most patients report another substantial drop in weight as well as losing inches. We have encouraged patients to do measurements at the start of the program as well as recording a starting weight. All patients are different, so results can and will vary.
Can I take hCG while on it?
HCG requires a 500 Calorie intake daily, while Semaglutide requires a minimum caloric intake of 1200. To stay on the side of caution, our physicians group have advised against it since there is no information on how the two would interact.
Can I take NAD+, B12, Glutathione or LIPO while on it?
The answer is yes! The NAD+ and LIPO Programs are a great compliment to the Semaglutide Program. Neither requires a Low-Calorie Diet so it is fine paired with a 1200-1800 Calorie Diet, perfect for Semaglutide. The NAD+ and LIPO will both help initiate fat metabolization. NAD+ is also a wonderful source of energy, encouraging us to get our bodies moving more. When it comes to B12, Invyncible actually offers a Semaglutide Program that has B12 in it. Is there a diet required while taking Semaglutide?
You don't necessarily need to engage in caloric restriction to achieve weight loss results. It's encouraged to aim for a daily intake of at least 1200-1800 calories. Patients have noted that prolonged low caloric intake can lead to weight loss plateaus, especially if refined carbohydrates are consumed excessively. The most significant weight loss outcomes have been reported by patients adopting a healthier lifestyle while on Semaglutide. We still advocate for a dietary regimen rich in lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables, along with complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, sweet potatoes, and quinoa. It's important to avoid refined or processed foods and anything containing added sugars. Always remember to drink plenty of water while on any of our medications.
What are the most common potential adverse effects of this medication?

Capsules vs. Injections
Your willingness to commit to either a 3 times per week oral medication or a once weekly injection regimen significantly influences your treatment approach.
If you have a strong preference for one method over the other, opting for the preferred form may enhance adherence and ensure consistency in reaping the benefits.
However, in the absence of a strong preference, other medical considerations and individual circumstances will inform the decision-making process. As with any treatment plan, it's crucial to diligently follow recommendations for optimal results. Please click HERE for more information about the different options for the Semaglutide Program.
What's the proper way to get rid of the needles and vial after use?
After you've finished with your injections, make sure to dispose of any used items, like the empty vial and needles. Be careful when disposing of needles to avoid any accidents. Ensure they're fully inside the bin and not sticking out. Once the sharps bin is full, research your local rules on how to dispose. A lot of times this can be done through your local pharmacy. To properly dispose of empty vials, ensure they are completely sealed to prevent any leaking. Place the empty vials and bottles into your household trash. If you want to conceal the label information, use a wide permanent marker or pen to cover your personal information.
